Frank Compton, MSW Clark Center Chief Executive Officer President of the Board of Directors
Frank Compton has been continuously engaged in the field of Mental Health since September 1969. His role as the Chief Executive Office of the Clark Center began in October, 1994. Before taking over the leadership position of Clark Center, Frank was employed for eight and a half years by the Ozark Center in Joplin, during his tenure there; he formed a partnership, Human Behavior Associates, which provided the leadership for the development of the Clark Center, incorporated in May, 1971 as Barry-Lawrence County Counseling Services. From 1976 to 1994 Frank was the Director of Mental Health, for Health Care and Rehabilitative Services of Southeastern Vermont. Since returning to Southwest Missouri and the Clark Center, Frank has dedicated his time and experience to improving behavioral health care access in rural areas.
In addition to his leadership role with the Clark Center, Mr. Compton has been involved in development of other service programs in the in the Monett Area. He was the Founder and Executive Director of Smart Start Day Care, Inc.; Founder and Executive Officer of Child Advocacy Center of the Ozarks, Inc. and a Founder of the Monett Area Community Foundation. In Vermont, he was very active in educational development in his home community. He served as two terms on the Town of Westminster District School Board, two years as Chairman and two terms on the Windham Northeast Supervisory Union School Board (a regional high school district) and the last two years of Chairman of the Supervisory Union Board.
Frank Compton has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kansas State University, Pittsburg, Kansas in 1963 and Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
